Das Große Zittauer Fastentuch ist das einzige erhaltene Fastentuch vom „Feldertyp“ in Deutschland und das drittgrößte bekannte Hungertuch weltweit. Es wurde 1472 in Zittau angefertigt und befindet sich heute im dortigen Museum Kirche zum Heiligen Kreuz. Rund 100 Jahre jünger ist das Kleine Zittauer Fastentuch.

In Zittau befindet sich seit 1907 eine Blumenuhr. Die Idee dafür entstand 1902 anlässlich der Industrie- und Gewerbeausstellung im Gelände der Weinau. Viele Zittauer wünschten sich ein solches „Wunderwerk“ für immer in der Stadt. Parkinspektor Johannes Grabowski und Ratsuhrmacher Otto Rödel waren die Schöpfer dieser Kuriosität.
