Der Rheinfall ist mit einer Höhe von 23 Metern und einer Breite von 150 Metern einer der mächtigsten Wasserfälle Europas. Er befindet sich in der Schweiz auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinden Neuhausen am Rheinfall im Kanton Schaffhausen (rechtsufrig) und Laufen-Uhwiesen im Kanton Zürich (linksufrig), etwa vier Kilometer südwestlich unterhalb der Stadt Schaffhausen.
