Die Windmühle Remels ist eine zweistöckige Holländerwindmühle in Remels, dem Hauptort der Gemeinde Uplengen im Landkreis Leer (Ostfriesland). Sie ist eine von noch drei erhaltenen Windmühlen in der Gemeinde und wurde 1803 erbaut.
Der Kugelberg ist mit seinen 18,6 m ü. NHN die höchste Erhebung auf dem ostfriesischen Festland. Der Hügel befindet sich im Naturschutzgebiet Hollsand, in der ostfriesischen Gemeinde Uplengen im Landkreis Leer zwischen den Dörfern Neudorf, Großoldendorf und Neufirrel und nordwestlich von Remels. Der Hügel ist mit Sträuchern, Heide und Gräsern bewachsen.
Großsander ist seit 1972 ein Ortsteil der Gemeinde Uplengen, Landkreis Leer, Ostfriesland, Land Niedersachsen. Großsander umfasst eine Fläche von 882 Hektar (8,82 Quadratkilometer) und hat etwa 426 Einwohner (Stand: Dezember 2007). Ortsvorsteherin ist Melanie de Vries.
