Of het werkelijk het hoogste natuurlijke punt van de provincie is, valt te bezien. Ten zuidoosten van Exloo aan de rand van het Molenveld zijn enkele stuifduinen die vrijwel dezelfde hoogte hebben en wellicht hoger zijn.
