The Austin Pass Warming Hut was constructed in 1940 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The Washington Junior Company 2915, was based at Camp F-12 near Glacier. Other contributions include 43 miles (69 km) of truck roads, the Glacier Ranger Station, four lookouts and 100 miles (160 km) of trail. The Austin Pass Warming Hut represents the Region 6 rustic style. The building is a fine example

Mount Baker National Recreation Area is a designated National Recreation Area in the U.S. state of Washington. It is about 15 miles (24 km) south of the Canada–US border within the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in northwestern Washington. The recreation area lies northwest of North Cascades National Park and comprises 8,600 acres (3,500 ha).
