Camp Taringatura sits on 15 acres at the foot of the Taringatura hills on the Southland Plains, adjacent to the Dipton stream and Oreti River, surrounded by native Podocarp forest (only 1% of which remains in New Zealand). The campsite offers tent camping, caravan parking, and cabin-style accommodation (2-bed and multi-bed cabins) with capacity for up to 67 guests in cabins, plus ample additional camping areas. Facilities include 8 toilets, 8 showers with warm fresh water, an outdoor hot tub, gymnasium, BBQ area, and fire pit. Activities include archery, floating obstacles, mud slides, canoeing, and bonfire gatherings with damper bread and guitar music. Located an hour from Invercargill and 90 minutes from Queenstown and Milford Sound, with the Taringatura Scientific Reserve adjacent to the property. (via official site)
