Chicabal Lake (Spanish: Laguna de Chicabal) is a Guatemalan lake sacred to the Mam Mayan people. The lake is located in the municipal boundary of the town of San Martín Sacatepéquez in the department of Quetzaltenango. San Martín Sacatepéquez has a surface area of 100 square kilometres (39 sq mi). The center of the town is situated at 2,450 metres (8,040 ft) above mean sea level. According to the 2000 government survey, it had 28,926 inhabitants.
