Canyon Camp is a premier 90-year-old Scouting America (BSA) summer camp located in the Driftless Region along Apple River Canyon in Illinois. The camp offers 55+ merit badge programs spanning 10+ specialty areas including archery, high ropes courses, climbing, canoeing, aquatics, horseback riding, and scoutcraft instruction. It serves youth from Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and the broader Midwest region. How do I register for summer camp?

Registration for Scouts BSA Summer Camp 2027 is available through the DoubleKnot platform at canyoncampbsa.org/register. Returning participants can log in to their existing accounts. Webelos/AOL Weekend registration opens each January.

What is the troop deposit requirement?

A $200 troop deposit is required to secure your unit's spot. Deposits are transferable but non-refundable if your unit does not attend Camp.

Canyon Camp offers 55+ merit badges across 10+ specialty areas including archery, high ropes courses, climbing, canoeing, aquatics, horsemanship, scoutcraft, nature programs, tie-dye, tomahawk throwing, and more.

Can I visit the camp or take a tour?

Yes, the camp welcomes family, friends, and prospective troops every Wednesday night during the summer camp season. Visitor hours run from 6:00 PM (Flag Retreat) through 9:00 PM+ (OA Call-out Ceremony), with a picnic dinner and open camp activities.
