A basic Department of Conservation campsite located at the start of the Hinemaiaia Track in the Kaimanawa Forest Park, near Tūrangi/Taupō. Reached via 27 km east of Taupō on SH5, then Taharua Rd (9.5 km), then Clements Mill Rd (21 km to end). The gravel access road is suitable for small caravans only and may be affected by fallen trees during high winds. No facilities or structures are provided; this is a primitive backcountry camping area. (via official site)
