La cosiddetta Colonna "Pizzuta" è un monumento di epoca greca del III secolo a.C. sito nei pressi dell'antica città di Eloro. Identificato come il segnacolo di un importante monumento funebre, deve probabilmente il suo nome alla forma aguzza recante in origine, prima dei danni subiti dal terremoto del 1693.
Eloro è stata un'antica polis siceliota. Il centro, oggi un sito archeologico, è ubicato su una collina prospiciente il mar Ionio, a circa 8 chilometri a sud-est di Noto, nell'odierna provincia di Siracusa, poco a nord della foce del fiume Tellaro.
La spiaggia di Calamosche si trova tra i resti archeologici di Eloro e l'oasi faunistica di Vendicari.
