Large evergreen conifers and hardwoods provide plenty of shade. 13 campsites are available that accommodate a horse trailer and camper with room to hitch horses to a highline near each camp unit. Vault toilet and picnic shelter. No potable water is available at this time.This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature.Horseback riding, hiking, camping (via site)

The Bear Gulch Fire was a wildfire that began on July 6, 2025, on the north side of Lake Cushman near Mount Rose in the Olympic National Forest. It was the largest fire on the Olympic Peninsula since the Great Forks Fire in 1951. As of November 12, 2025, it had burned 20,233 acres (8,188 ha) and is 100% contained. The fire was caused by human activity.
