Bala (Welsh: Y Bala) is a town and community in Gwynedd, Wales. Formerly an urban district, Bala lies in the historic county of Merionethshire, at the north end of Llyn Tegid. According to the 2021 census, Bala had a population of 1,999 and 72.5 per cent of the population could speak Welsh.

Maes Tegid (Welsh for 'Tegid field') is a community playing field in Bala, Wales. It is currently used mostly for football matches, and is the home ground of Bala Town (Welsh: Clwb Pêl-droed y Bala). The stadium holds 3,000 people, with 504 seats and has been used by Bala Town since the 1950s. The seats at Maes Tegid are second-hand from Chesterfield and Coventry City, and were installed when Bala
