Vernum ist ein Dorf am linksrheinischen Niederrhein und eine Ortschaft der Gemeinde Geldern in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die Ortschaft Vernum zählte am 1. Mai 2026 1056 Einwohner. Bis 1969 gab es eine selbstständige Gemeinde Vernum mit mehreren Ortschaften.
Der Oermter Berg ist 68 Meter hoch und liegt zwischen den Gemeinden Issum, Rheurdt und Kamp-Lintfort am Niederrhein. Er gehört zum Schaephuysener Höhenzug als Teil des Niederrheinischen Höhenzuges und ist ein touristischer Anziehungspunkt der Region mit jährlich etwa 150.000 Besuchern.
