Sabie River Camp is a family-friendly, malaria-free campsite situated on the banks of the Sabie River on the outskirts of Sabie town in the Drakensberg escarpment mountains. The camp offers accommodation in caravan sites, self-catering tents on stilts, and luxury safari tents with en-suite bathrooms, positioned approximately four hours from Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport and one hour from Kruger National Park. Facilities include two pools (heated rock pool and cold water pool overlooking the river), free WiFi, braai areas, putt putt golf, kids playground, and vehicle parking. Sabie is a forestry town situated on the banks of the Sabie River in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The name Sabie is derived from the Xitsonga language word "Sava" which means "Sand" because of the rich Sand in the area . The word Sava was adapted by the Afrikaner settlers who changed it from Sava (Xitsonga) into the Afrikaans "Sabie" . The town was started after H.T. Glynn and J.C. Ingle found gold
