Whittaker Creek Recreation Site
Whittaker Creek Recreation Site is a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) campground located approximately 14 miles from Florence on the Oregon coast, within the Siuslaw River Scenic Recreation Area. The site offers 30 tent-only campsites (not suitable for trailers or motorhomes), including one accessible site and one group tent area, set amid old-growth forest with access to the Siuslaw River for water recreation. Key facilities include vault toilets, potable water from hand pumps, picnic areas, fire rings, a children's play area, a seasonal swimming beach (June–September), horseshoe pits, and a paved boat ramp for drift boat and canoe access. The campground features the Old Growth Ridge National Recreation Trail (2.5-mile loop) and is managed by BLM with a camp host on site June through September.
