Openluchtmuseum Ellert en Brammert is een openluchtmuseum in Schoonoord over de cultuurhistorie van Zuidoost-Drenthe.
De Poolshoogte is een heuvel met uitkijktoren aan de Boswachter Meelkerlaan in boswachterij Odoorn in de gemeente Borger-Odoorn, in de Nederlandse provincie Drenthe.
Sleenerzand is een ruim 1600 ha groot bosgebied in de provincie Drenthe, gelegen tussen Noord-Sleen en Schoonoord. De bossen werden in de jaren 1930 aangeplant. Er zijn nog veel sporen uit het verre verleden te vinden, in het noordelijke gedeelte gletsjerkuilen en in het zuidelijke gedeelte grafheuvels.
Een Toeristisch Overstappunt (TOP) is een 'natuurlijk knooppunt', waar diverse fiets-, vaar-, skate- en wandelroutes beginnen. Bij elke TOP geeft een informatiepaneel met kaarten van de omgeving en borden de juiste richting naar de verschillende routes. De TOP's zijn meestal gesitueerd bij gratis parkeerplaatsen; sommige zijn bij een NS-station geplaatst, zodat ook treinreizigers van de TOP gebrui
