Spoonbill Sandbar Campsite
Bartram Trails is a canoe and kayak trail system spanning 250,000 acres of Alabama's Mobile-Tensaw Delta, featuring the Upper Delta (established 2003) with six overnight trail routes including Spoonbill Sandbar, and the Lower Delta (established 2018) with four elevated camping shelters. Overnight accommodations consist of reservation-only floating platform campsites and elevated shelters for groups up to eight people, with two additional first-come, first-served land-based campsites. The delta ecosystem hosts estuarine marsh, cypress-tupelo swamp, and bottomland hardwood forests with over 50 rare and endangered species.
